Huichol Bracelet Free Pattern And Tutorial

Yesterday I got a request for this pattern and , here it is!

I don't know the name of this technique, as I mentioned before, I just look at the pattern or bracelet and then I spend days looking for the easiest way to make it.

What I do know is that this is one of the most traditional Huichol patterns, called Ojo de Dios,  or Eye of God. Its made with 3 different colours, is approximately 3.5 cm wide, using, 11/0 seed beads.

This is the first pattern I’ve ever made, it is pretty basic. Read it as if it was cross stitch, I've also made a small tutorial (also my first). Give it a try and if you get stuck your let me know and ill find the way to explain it better.
you can also download it here !

I've used the colour pink for the silver beads. When you reach the grey line it means that the pattern repeats.

1.- Start with 2 needless and insert the first 8 beads, leaving one string only about 15 cm long.

2.- Repeat the same step until you finish the the 7 diamond shapes
3.-When you finish step 2 leave on the side the shorter tread and whit the long one go back all the way to the beginning.

4.-Add the next 3 beads and go back to the middle bead of the other diamond

5.- Repeat the same step 6 timesmaking sure that the middle bead is the right colour, when you are working with only the first 2 lines it is really easy to get the wrong one.

6.- Add 5 beds instead of 3 and go back to the middle bead of your last diamond then just add 3 beads and repeat 5 times, when you get to your last one add 5 beads and go back to the middle bead of the first diamond.

I think you can take it from here! Any questions just send me an email :)

7.-When you reach the desire length just finish your bracelet by going around connecting the middle beads. This will make your bracelet look more tidy and strong.

  1. I wonder if you could email me more detailed instructions?

I would love to know what you think!

Plese make sure to come back since I do make an efort to answer all the comments.
